FinPay is a digital financial services app designed for a fintech startup targeting millennials and Gen Z users in emerging markets. The brief was to make financial management feel approachable, trustworthy, and modern.

The Challenge

Financial apps often feel intimidating or bureaucratic. The challenge was to design a payments experience that feels as easy as messaging a friend, while meeting strict security and compliance requirements.

My Approach

Conducted contextual research in 4 cities, running diary studies with 15 participants over 2 weeks. Built a complete design system in Figma with 200+ components following atomic design principles, enabling consistent design across all 80+ screens.

Solution

Designed a conversational money transfer flow modelled after chat UX patterns. Built an intelligent home screen that surfaces upcoming bills, recent contacts, and spending insights. The dark mode-first design reduces eye strain for evening use.
