StartupX SaaS Landing Page
StartupX is a B2B project management SaaS tool targeting small and medium-sized agencies. They needed a landing page that could clearly communicate a complex product value proposition and convert cold traffic into free trial sign-ups.
The Challenge
The existing landing page had a 1.8% conversion rate and visitors were leaving within 30 seconds. User testing revealed they couldn't understand what the product actually did within the first 10 seconds — a classic "What is it?" UX failure.
My Approach
Applied the Jobs-to-be-Done framework to rewrite the value proposition hierarchy. Conducted a copy-first design process where messaging was validated with 5-second tests before any visual design began. Used PPC landing page best practices and ran competitive analysis of 20 SaaS landing pages.
Solution
Designed a narrative-driven landing page using the "Problem → Solution → Social Proof → CTA" framework. The hero section communicates the core value prop in under 8 words with a supporting 15-word subheading. Added an interactive product demo section, 3 customer case studies with specific metrics, and a risk-reversal section addressing common objections.
Results
- Conversion rate increased from 1.8% to 6.2%
- Average time on page increased from 30 seconds to 3.4 minutes
